Barcelona Sant Joan - Design, Animations, And Assets
Summer is the best time of year to enjoy the beach, food, ice cream, and parties. But, during the Sant Joan holiday in Barcelona it is all of that, plus, a day full of fun, surprises, fireworks, drinking, and jumping over burning cardboard boxes on the beach. Although that’s not what the day is about, but it is a day of celebration that has been celebrated throughout the years in Barcelona.
Sant Joan falls on the 23rd of June. Warm weather, cool breeze, packed beaches, and very hot. In every way imaginable. Many people travel to take part on this day, which is also the longest day of the entire year in Spain.
I’ve been living here since 2016 and have had the greatest times of my life, Barcelona is easy to love and hard to leave, if you have a way to stay. I wanted to create something for Sant Joan and thought about a gif many could share that feel the same way.
I have to say that the fireworks in Barcelona on that day are pretty amazing. The neighborhoods within the city actually compete on who fires the best fireworks.

I wanted to create something that would give a great representation to many travelers of this holiday and how amazing it is. So, I made a cool animated gif for people to use should they feel the same way about the holiday. I’m sure many would be feeling the same way when they see the fireworks, the music bars, and the most noticeable buildings in Barcelona.
Since this gif was only uploaded to stickers it seemed to get around very well. Now it has more than a million views.
